Have A Successful Part-Time Career Publishing Books
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 21, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Marjory D. Lyons, founder and owner of Telling Your Story, Inc., presents the first in a series of nationwide business seminars for entrepreneurs in how to become publishers of books of life stories January 28 and 29, 2011.
When asked, "'Why hold a business seminar now?"' Lyons said, "In an economic downturn, people often enroll in college courses to get a degree or certificate. Attending my seminar may be the best use of time for many. Based on my ten years in business, I am offering a two-day course for enterprising individuals, retirees, military, executives-- who want to get started in their own publishing business, not in several weeks, but right away."
To be held at the Marriott North Hotel, 6650 North Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, the seminar runs from Friday, January 28, noon to 5:00 p.m. (wine reception included) and Saturday, January 29, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (breakfast and lunch included). The format includes presentations and hands-on practice in simulations. Speakers are Sara Goodman, intellectual property attorney and former counsel for a New York publisher; Martin Fox, video and public relations expert; Kevin Lane, media coverage specialist; Patti Meyer, webmaster and graphic artist; and Tina Koenig, email news distributor.
The seminar cost is $595.00 (less $100 for registering before Dec. 31). Hotel rooms are discounted to attendees.
Participants will be instructed in how to locate, screen and hire freelance publishing professionals -- writers, editors, graphic artists, etc. Also included is a follow-up system of email and phone assistance for participants. Lyons said, "With so many people having to redirect their careers due to the economy, I can help them set up a business with only minimal expenditure. It's the business model they have been looking for." In 2009, Lyons received The Hall of Fame Award by the Writers' Network of South Florida for "service to the writing community."
