CHICAGO, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Creative Enterprise Boost Camp, a two-week intensive course offered by the Institute for Arts Entrepreneurship, Chicago, will introduce artists and creative professionals to the process of starting a business in the arts.
Taught by a faculty of well-known arts entrepreneurs, Creative Enterprise Boost Camp will be held Monday, July 26 through Friday, August 6 at Flourish Studios, 3020 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago.
"If you're passionate about the arts and have an idea for an arts based business, but don't have a plan, this intensive course will give you the tools you need," says Lisa Canning, founder of The Institute for Arts Entrepreneurship. "At Creative Enterprise Boost Camp, we help artists transform their ideas into a viable business plan so that they can begin to turn their idea into reality."
Students will learn how to determine the business potential of a creative idea, how to develop marketing strategies and communications plans, how to choose appropriate legal structures, how to effectively communicate about management and operations and how to manage finances and find potential funding sources.
Faculty members include Paul Guise, PhD, cultural consultant, conductor and musical educator and lecturer at the University of Manitoba, Canada; Dan J. Martin, PhD, Associate Professor at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama and Associate Dean at the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy; J. Dennis Rich, PhD, co-founder of The Center for Creative Enterprise and Chairman Emeritus of the Arts, Entertainment and Media Management department at Columbia College, Chicago and Anna Bernadska, co-founder of the Center for Creative Enterprise and Boost Camp Director.
