Learning Disabilities Association New York City closes its doors
After 25 years of building a more understanding and accommodating world for people with learning disabilities, LDANYC will suspend operations as of December 31st, 2014.
NEW YORK, Dec. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Learning Disabilities Association New York City will be closing its doors as of December 31st, 2014. For the past 25 years this non-profit organization has used its resources to draw attention and improve the lives of transitioning teens and adults with learning disabilities by offering its clients innovative clinical approaches, adaptive assistance technology and work readiness training. Its unique one-on-one model has proven extremely beneficial to the clients it serves, helping them pass GED exams, college entrance exams and retaining jobs. Its Direct Support and Outreach Programs have provided support to more than 1,000 individuals in the past year alone.
A close-down plan has commenced as of December 15th, 2014 though the organization will continue to function through December 31st, 2014. Its current clients are being referred to other organizations providing similar services.
