Learning Record Stores. UNESCO meets to prepare for new learning technologies in a connected world.

WASHINGTON, March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- We are witnessing a growing phenomenon play out before our eyes. UNESCO recently hosted Mobile Learning Week at their Paris headquarters, where delegates George Churchwell and Mark Lamont led the conversation on mobile learning technologies and Learning Record Stores (LRS) have the potential to turn education on its head.

George Churchwell centered his topic on the evolution of a Learning Record Store (LRS) and the analytics of Tin Can API, sometimes known as the Experience API or xAPI, that makes it possible to collect data about the wide range of experiences a student has online and offline. This API captures data in a consistent format about a person or group's activities from many technologies. Very different systems are able to securely communicate by capturing and sharing this stream of activities using Tin Can's simple vocabulary.
