According to a report published by Hemp Business Journal, the total value of hemp products sold in the U.S. was $688 million in 2016 and the market is growing at a compound rate of 22 percent. Rapid growth in hemp CBD products continues to boost the market. Sales of CBD products are growing at a 53 percent AGR and reached $130 million in 2016. The report indicated that the Hemp CBD category was led by channel sales in natural and specialty products, smoke shops, and online verticals.
