KNOXVILLE, Tenn., May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Phoenix Theatres announced today Legends 14 at Village West in Kansas City, KS is now a fully digital cinema. Each of the theatres' 14 auditoriums features a state-of-the-art digital projection set-up and seven are capable of playing Digital 3-D movies. Over the last weeks the site has undergone upgrades to become all digital in order to enhance the movie-going experience of all the guests that visit the cinema each year.
Legends 14 will premiere as a fully digital cinema, Friday, May 20 with the highly anticipated release of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES (PG13) in Digital 3D and Digital 2D. A special midnight showing of PIRATES 4 will be offered on Thursday, May 19 at 12:01AM. These showings represent the first feature movie at Legends 14 to play using only Digital Projection for all showings including in the theatre's largest auditorium, The Main Attraction. This 650 seat auditorium with an 87 foot wide screen and VIP Balcony Seating is the optimal destination to be immersed in the action-packed fourth film in the Pirates' series. Digital projection provides exceptionally sharp images and realistic color reproduction to deliver a premium viewing experience to every seat in the theatre.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES (PG13) captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise—this time in Digital 3D.
