LeVar Burton to Host Red Carpet Awards Ceremony and Reception for IndieCade 2010

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- LeVar Burton has been revealed as host for this year's IndieCade Red Carpet Awards Ceremony and Reception. The ceremony will announce winners in ten categories including Jury Award from among the 360 games in competition. The Awards ceremony will take place on Friday evening, October 8th at 8:00pm at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA. The IndieCade 2010 festival, which focuses on independent games and works to cultivate innovation and artistry in interactive media, will run from October 7-10, 2010 in multiple locations throughout downtown Culver City, California. It marks the only stand-alone festival for independent games open to the public in the United States.

From his phenomenal role as Kunta Kinte in the acclaimed miniseries ROOTS, to his work on the STAR TREK series to his Emmy-Awarded work as the host and executive producer of the highly acclaimed PBS children's television series READING RAINBOW, Burton continues his penchant for exploring the human condition through his work.
