Across 427 adults with ongoing aches and pain, the study found statistically significant improvements in pain severity, pain interference, mood, and validated measures of pain and quality of life.

The clearest signal in the study was same-day relief: rating their pain immediately before each dose and again in the hours after, participants' scores fell from 5.26 to 3.56 on a 0–10 scale — a 32% drop (p < .05). The probability that pain moderately to significantly interfered with participants' day fell from 34% to 22% while using the product, and the chance that pain negatively affected mood was cut in half, from 18% to 9%. Eighty percent of participants said Relief Protab reduced their daily pain.

Key findings from the 29-day study

Across the product-use phase, participants reported statistically significant changes (p < .05) on the following validated and self-reported measures:

• Same-day pain relief: pain scores fell 32% within hours of each dose, from 5.26 to 3.56 on a 0–10 scale.
• Pain interference dropped by more than a third: the probability of moderate-to-significant pain interference on any given day fell from 34% to 22%.
• Mood impact cut in half: the chance that pain negatively affected mood fell from 18% to 9% during product use.
• Validated pain measures improved: PEG scores (pain intensity and interference with enjoyment of life and general activity) improved from 5.39 to 4.96, and Pain Outcomes Questionnaire scores improved from 64.08 to 58.76.
• Mood, energy, and overall day ratings each improved in the 7–8% range.
• Lower doses of other pain medications: Participants who took other pain medications reported taking lower doses on days they also used Relief Protab—an observed pattern, not a substitution recommendation.
• Strong satisfaction: 80% said Relief Protab reduced their daily pain, 86% said it met or exceeded expectations, and 74% said they would recommend it.

Filling a gap in hemp product research

Independent research on finished consumer hemp products remains rare; most brands rely on ingredient-level studies rather than testing their actual formulations. Participants completed a 7-day baseline followed by 21 days of product use, with outcomes analyzed using two-level mixed-effects models so that every participant was compared against their own baseline. Assessments included the validated PEG scale and the 19-item Pain Outcomes Questionnaire alongside daily self-reports.
