
Lexington, KY Seminar to Examine Japanese and American Manufacturing Philosophies
LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, November 18, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Japan/America Society of Kentucky (JASK) will present a luncheon and seminar entitled, "The Mindset of Monozukuri: Encouraging a Culture of Talent and Innovation in Manufacturing."
The event, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Lexington, from 11:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., will feature industry leaders from the automotive and advanced manufacturing communities describing their companies' pursuits of ongoing productivity growth.
The theme of Monozukuri – the spirit and quest for manufacturing excellence – will be presented to encourage a continued exchange of best practices in manufacturing processes and human resource development, both critical issues to advancing competitiveness in Japan and North America. Seminar attendees are expected from throughout the region, including Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
The luncheon address will be presented by Mark Reich, General Manager, Toyota Production System Support Center (TSSC, Inc.), Erlanger, Kentucky. Welcome remarks will be given by Kentucky Governor Steven Beshear.
The seminar portion will be highlighted by a Keynote Address from Ken Funasaki, President, Hitachi Automotive Products (USA) Inc., Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
