LG Electronics Cleans House With Its First Vacuum Cleaner Line for U.S. Market

NEW YORK, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics is adding to its innovative technologies for the home with the introduction of its first-ever line of vacuum cleaners in the United States. The launch marks the global expansion of the product line for LG and extends its portfolio of home appliances that provide consumers with innovative solutions that help them take better care of their families and clean their homes.

LG vacuums are designed to clean effectively, provide ease of use and reduce allergens in the home environment by incorporating innovative solutions such as DualForce™ suction, Kompressor technology and a larger bin. These advanced features pick up dirt and debris across a wide suction area, compact the bin contents to hold more, and allow for easy disposal of compacted dust.  

The company's entry this spring into the vacuum cleaner market in the United States builds on LG's position as a global player in cutting-edge vacuum cleaner technology, while underscoring its commitment to bringing the latest home appliance innovations to American consumers, according to Peter Reiner, senior vice president, marketing, LG Electronics USA.

CLEAN BETTER

LG's new LuV200 and LuV300 vacuum cleaners provide consumers with tools they need to create a clean and healthy home environment. With DualForce suction technology, two additional air pathways pick up from both sides of the vacuum head in addition to the traditional center section, providing a wide suction area to collect dirt and debris, even on hard-to-reach edges, as LG's upright vertical cyclone system rapidly spins air vertically to separate out dirt.

LG's patented Kompressor technology utilizes the world's first motorized compression system and a larger bin to compress the dust intake to hold three times more household dust than non-compressor models. The compression also allows for the clean and simple disposal of compacted dust.

BE MORE EFFICIENT

LG's new vacuum cleaners not only help consumers keep their homes clean but allow them to do so with ease and efficiency. With LG's Click 'N Go™ wand*, the vacuum's radio-frequency wand allows consumers to control the unit remotely from the wand when it is detached from the base, making it easy to clean stairs, upholstery, and other hard-to-reach areas. Also included is a pet hair tool with an air-turbine powered horsehair dusting brush which is great for stairs and interiors, as well as removing pet hair from fabrics and carpets.

LG's award-winning top-of-the line LuV300B features the industry's longest cleaning reach, with an extra-long 40-foot cord and 15-foot hose*, making it easier for consumers to clean a larger area in less time without having to switch outlets multiple times to reach the entire space.

REDUCED EXPOSURE TO ALLERGENS

Building on the innovative allergen-reducing technology found in LG's Steam Laundry systems, LG continues to show a commitment to reducing common household allergens with its vacuum line. The vacuum's powerful engine provides superior suction power, picking up 99 percent of dust on hard floor surfaces and 70 percent of dust on the carpet, while the HEPA filter captures 99.97 percent of allergens such as dust mites and animal dander.

The LuV300B is certified asthma & allergy friendly™ by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), the oldest and largest independent non-profit organization dedicated to helping consumers and patients with asthma and allergic diseases.

According to AAFA, LG's unique dust compressing system is beneficial to consumers seeking to reduce their exposure to dirt and allergens released into the air when emptying the dustbin, helping to assure that allergen exposure at home remains minimal after vacuuming. The wipe-blade system can reduce the need to manually clean dirt and debris that can get stuck in traditional dust bins.

LG's new vacuum cleaner units will be available this spring at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $399 for the LuV300B, available in Riviera Blue, and $299 for the LuV200R, available in Wild Cherry Red. LuV200R incorporates all the same core functionalities of the LuV300B, aside from the Click 'N Go feature, and includes a 30-foot auto-rewind cord, the industry's longest auto-rewind cord length.** Products will be available early in the second quarter of 2010.
