Libratone Loop Named Bronze Winner of 2014 IDEA Awards

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., July 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Groundbreaking wireless speaker company Libratone has been named a Bronze Winner in the 2014 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) program for the Loop, a versatile speaker that delivers FullRoom™ sound. The Loop was named a winner in the Entertainment category. A panel of 24 international design experts evaluated 2,000 entries based on innovation, benefits to the user, sustainability and the design's visual appeal.

The Loop offers 360 degree stereo sound with the convenience of wireless Airplay and DLNA streaming. It also delivers the performance and convenience of AirPlay without the need for a Wi-Fi router and complicated network setup using Libratone's patented PlayDirect™ technology. Thanks to the circular design of the speaker, the Loop disperses sound waves in multiple directions and reflects sound throughout its surroundings.

Further pushing the boundaries of home audio, every new Loop will feature built-in Spotify-Connect technology for seamless music streaming. Users will be able to enjoy uninterrupted wireless playback from a limitless music library without draining the battery life of the speaker. All new Libratone speakers have also been outfitted with HTC-enabled technology  that allows HTC owners to share content with any speaker via a simple "three-finger swipe up" the screen of their smart phone. Current Loop owners will be able to upgrade their speakers with HTC and Spotify-Connect through a firmware update via Libratone's updated iOS or Android app.

IDSA will formally award these honors at the 2014 International Conference in Austin, TX at the Austin Hilton on August 13, 2014. In addition, IDSA will announce a number of top honors, including the Best in Show, Curators Choice, People's Choice and the Sustainability Awards for 2014.
