Lihua International Achieves ISO 14001:2004 Certification for Environmental Management System

DANYANG, China, May 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Lihua International, Inc. (Nasdaq: LIWA) ("Lihua" or the "Company"), a leading Chinese developer, designer, and manufacturer of low cost, high quality alternatives to pure copper products, including refined copper products and superfine and magnet wire, as well as copper clad aluminum ("CCA") wire, today announced that its subsidiaries, Danyang Lihua Electron Co. Ltd and Jiangsu Lihua Copper Industry Co., Ltd, have achieved ISO 14001:2004 certification for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) by the International Organization for Standardization. These certifications relate to Lihua's CCA and copper wire, copper anode and copper rod products and the associated production processes.

The ISO 14001:2004 standard is intended to help companies minimize the environmental impact of the production process. The standard includes a set of internationally accepted specifications for environmental management systems created by the International Organization for Standardization. The standards for certification include three major areas: (1) Management systems - systems development and integration of environmental responsibilities into a company's planning; (2) Operations - consumption of natural resources and energy; and (3) Environmental systems - measuring, assessing, and managing emissions, effluents, and other waste streams.
