Lindquist & Vennum Names Dean Harakas Chief Marketing Officer

MINNEAPOLIS, June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Lindquist & Vennum announced this week that Dean Harakas, Esq. has joined the firm as Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Harakas will oversee marketing, business development, media, and public reputation efforts for the nearly 200-attorney law firm from its headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Previously, Mr. Harakas was Executive Director of Marketing and Strategic Development at Sherman & Howard in Denver, Colorado.

Prior to joining Lindquist & Vennum, Mr. Harakas served as Executive Director of Marketing and Strategic Development at Sherman & Howard in Denver, where he directed all aspects of marketing efforts, including branding initiatives, media and public relations and advising on the firm's strategic development. Prior to his position with Sherman & Howard, he was promoted to Vice President - Client Services and Strategic Planning at Sachnoff & Weaver, Ltd. in Chicago, and advised the firm's management on strategic planning issues, including the firm's combination with Reed Smith. While serving as Director of Marketing at Sachnoff, Mr. Harakas launched multiple innovative marketing, branding, advertising, Internet and media relations efforts that received several honors and awards from both general business and law firm marketing industry associations and organizations.

Mr. Harakas has more than 20 years of professional services marketing experience. A licensed member of the Illinois State Bar Association and The Missouri Bar, Mr. Harakas also worked in the marketing departments of Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand, LLP (Minneapolis); Perkins Coie (Seattle); Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal (Chicago); Andersen Consulting (World Headquarters/Chicago) and Arthur Andersen (Chicago).

Mr. Harakas served as president of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) Chicago Chapter (2000) and was a founding member and first president of the LMA Minnesota Chapter (1997). He is a frequent author and contributor to legal and business publications and speaks on several professional service marketing topics.

Mr. Harakas earned a J.D./MBA from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he was a member of the Saint Louis University Public Law Review. He also received a B.S.B.A. from Saint Louis University.
