LionGate Partners See's Opportunity in a Conservative Majority Government
LONDON, May 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
After the dust has settled on a surprise majority win for the Conservative party, LionGate Partners the London based financial services marketing firm has joined the rest of the business community calling for the Prime Minister to be proactive in dismantling the obstacles in the way of economic growth and calling for a vibrant debate on Britain's role in Europe.
Already the director-general of the British Chambers of Commerce, John Longworth, has called on the PM to "be ambitious" and "fight the Whitehall culture of incrementalism, risk aversion and inertia that stops much-needed change." Speaking at a recent SME event, Stephen King LionGate Partners' leading consultant spoke of the positive reaction the election has had on both its clients and global partners,
"A majority vote for the Conservative party was a huge vote for the UK economy, already we have seen a positive reaction from both clients and partners which has given a real surge to deal activity, the real test will be the government pushing through further measures which will assist businesses across the country."
The EU question looms large for the private sector as most call for a reformed EU instead of an exit which would have a negative impact on many businesses. LGP is aligned with the recent comments made by Katja Hall, deputy director-general of the CBI when she commented that "Business will take an active role in arguing the case for the UK to remain inside a reformed EU," as the bar is set for a "ambitious and achievable" level of reform. The next six to twelve months will be a crucial time in the newly formed government as it sets out its direction for the country over the next five years, LionGate Partners along with many other SME's within the commercial sector are very much poised to take full advantage of this newly found optimism in the UK economy.
