LIPF Celebrates Its Second Year In The Fight Against Depression And Suicide

NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- LIFE IS PRICELESS FOUNDATION GALA (TheLIPF) celebrates its second year in their awareness and fight against depression and suicide at the NYC Surrogates Court Building on October 26^th at 8pm with a 1920's theme.   Timothy Price established TheLIPF as a way to help others after his brother took his life over depression.  Their mission is to issue grants to Medical and Social services specializing in depression and suicide.  With only volunteers the charity has raised over $175,000 since inception, and will announce their first grant at the Gala. LIPF premiered a film at last year's gala -http://youtu.be/c5cytdcp2Wo that won a Hearts in Action Award.  The charity is also an official partner of the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, the US's largest bicycle tour, two years running. "We are taking the conversation around depression to a new level," says Price.  "Depression is one of the most well documented medical conditions worldwide yet the least spoken about due to societal taboo.   When you consider 1 in 4 are affected by mental illness in some way, you can begin to understand how we as a society are still ashamed or afraid to talk about depression and mental illness."
