ATLANTA, Jan. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- VeinInnovations, Atlanta's first and largest independent vein care practice dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of varicose and spider veins, recently announced the addition of Lisa Perez, MD, to the medical staff.
Dr. Perez joins medical director Darrell Caudill, MD, FACS, and surgeons Frank Ferrier, MD, FACS; Alexander A. Park, MD, FACS; and David A. Park, MD, FACS, in the practice, which has clinics in Sandy Springs and Johns Creek.
A New York native, Dr. Perez graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at East Carolina University.
Dr. Perez has been a member of Atlanta's medical community for fifteen years, and has been focused exclusively on vein care for the last four years, having served as medical director for Circulatory Centers of Georgia since 2011.
"We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Perez to the practice. She brings a passion for venous health, and seeing patients' lives transformed by the positive impact of the office-based, minimally invasive procedures we've offered for the last 13 years. Too, as a mom herself, and a physician who has openly talked about her own vein issues, she brings a tremendous amount of understanding, empathy, and compassion to women, especially women troubled by post-pregnancy vein issues," said David Martin, president and CEO of VeinInnovations.
"I look forward to working in the community, helping with corporate and medical education on the importance of venous health, and why patients should seek treatment sooner rather than later. Vein disease is progressive, and earlier treatment may prevent a lot of problems down the line. The fact that this is a condition we can actually 'fix' – with in-office procedures and incredible results – is news to a lot of people." said Dr. Perez.
"Clinically," she continued, "I am thrilled to be with a practice so focused on providing excellent care. I love building relationships with my patients; it is incredibly rewarding to see them 'get their lives back' when venous insufficiency – the backward flow of blood caused by the failure of one-way valves in veins – has caused them to stop exercising or resting well. I've seen many patients lose weight and regain vitality. Because the progression of venous insufficiency is so slow, many patients do not even realize they have been suffering."
VeinInnovations, Atlanta's first independent vein treatment center, opened in 2002 to offer North Georgians every available minimally invasive treatment option for varicose and spider veins, as well as a dedicated staff of insurance precertification professionals to help patients with insurance authorization and scheduling. More than 95 percent of procedures performed at VeinInnovations are covered by insurance. With two clinics and five physicians, VeinInnovations offers comprehensive treatment for venous insufficiency, a hereditary disease affecting about half of all people over the age of 50.
