Livery Round Table Celebrates the Year with it's First Convention
LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., Jan. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Livery Round Table (LRT), which includes over 18,000 New York City Livery Drivers, 350 Base Owners and more than 8,000 phone operators and dispatchers, is celebrating an eventful year by conducting the first of its kind Summit/Mini Convention here in New York City.
The event will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 from 9 AM to 6 PM at the Marriott Hotel at La Guardia Airport, 102-05 Ditmars Blvd, E. Elmhurst, NY 11365. Admission is $5.00 per person and is open not only to the industry but all stakeholders and the general public.
The Summit/Mini Convention meeting is unique in that it is sponsored by the New York City Livery Industry for the New York City Livery Industry.
This Summit will provide a series of necessary informative panel discussion on topics unique to the Livery industry such as Workman's Compensation; proper classification of workers; community involvement as well as legislative and regulatory issues. Over 22 vendors will be displaying their goods and services unique to the livery industry at the event.
Part of the celebration includes a raffle for a Lincoln Town Car as well as several other industry-related prizes.
Several political figures have recognized the importance of the Livery Round Table to the New York City riding public and will show their support by attending. They include: Senator Martin Malave Dilan, Senator Adriano Espaillat, Assemblyman Mica Kellner and New York City Council Members James Vacca and Peter Vallone, Jr.
The Livery Round Table has been working behind the scene as a coordinating market force for almost three years. The LRT consists of seven associations and is the driving force in the Livery industry. The LRT acts as a coordinating council for the:
