AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- LivingTree, a private social network for PK-12 family engagement, today announces its acquisition of ClassMessenger, a parent-teacher communication tool. The acquisition adds tens of thousands of teachers across the United States to the LivingTree user base. ClassMessenger Founder, Keith McSpurren, will join LivingTree's advisory board.
"ClassMessenger has done an excellent job of syncing teachers, parents, and students at the classroom level. They have built an extremely active user base who believes in using technology for family engagement. Providing these teachers and parents with continued service and a simple transition into our network aligns with our mission to connect everyone who develops and educates children. We are excited to welcome ClassMessenger and all of its users to the LivingTree Family," said Joni Carswell, CEO of LivingTree.
LivingTree will continue to operate the ClassMessenger platform through the end of June. This will deliver a seamless ownership transition and completion of the 2016-17 school year for all ClassMessenger users. During this time, LivingTree will seek feedback and provide automatic migration and account setup for the 2017-18 school year. LivingTree provides every feature ClassMessenger users rely on and more, including translation to over 100 languages, SMS texting, ability to connect into broader school, district, and community networks, enhanced media sharing, private messaging, directory, and analytic reporting.
