Load Delivered Logistics Doubles Headcount, Adds 24,000 Square Feet of Office Space, Creates Board of Advisors
Supply Chain Startup Continues Explosive Growth in Chicago, Adding 60 Jobs in 2014
CHICAGO, July 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Load Delivered Logistics, a leading technology-enabled third-party logistics (3PL) provider, continues its aggressive growth, adding 60 jobs and 24,000 square feet to its existing office in the River North neighborhood of Chicago this year. Load Delivered's growth was spurred in part by its continued focus on temperature-controlled shipping – a specialization that helped put Load Delivered on the map more than seven years ago.
"The Midwest has always been a major hub for the supply chain industry specifically focusing on frozen food and meat companies," said Robert Nathan, Load Delivered CEO. "There is a tremendous need for reliable temperature-controlled transportation providers. We chose to specialize in this mode of shipping when we founded the company during the 2008 recession. People weren't buying plasma TVs, but they still needed to eat."
Today, temperature-controlled shipping is still prevalent and accounts for nearly half of the company's business. Load Delivered serves several Chicago-based companies across an array of industries with particular expertise in the food and beverage industry.
Doubling Workforce and Creating Room to Grow
Whether specializing early, like they did with temperature-controlled shipping, or entering the e-commerce space in 2014, the Load Delivered team is committed to staying ahead of industry trends. As a result, the company has experienced rapid growth. This year, Load Delivered will surpass 100 associates, with 60 new hires in 2014 alone. By the end of 2016, the company aims to grow to over 250 team members. To adjust to the influx of new associates, the company is adding 24,000 square feet to its office.
The expansion, which will be completed in early August, caters to team members' needs and encourages career development, two key ingredients to Load Delivered's culture. The new space will feature a workout facility and a Center for Excellence. The Center will double as a training facility for employees and a home for the company's many philanthropic efforts, like afterschool tutoring and mentorship programs.
"Our office expansion enables us to scale our growth to continue to meet our clients' needs," said Nathan. "We're growing – fast – and we want to prepare for our next growth cycle. We wouldn't be where we are today without the hard work and dedication of our team, so we want to ensure our office accommodates them."
Nathan projects the company will move to a 60,000 square foot space in the future and has sought out locations from various real estate development firms in the city.
Board of Advisors Guides Load Delivered's Growth
Load Delivered is announcing the members of its board of advisors as a means to support and guide the company through an accelerated growth phase as well as enhance and execute the company's vision. Each of the three board members have backgrounds in technology and/or supply chain.
"We're excited to collaborate with our new board of advisors," said Nathan. "The members have a wide array of industry experience and expertise in growing and nurturing publically traded companies. We're eager to further develop our company as it matures and grows with the support of an experienced board of advisors."
