WASHINGTON, April 16, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The establishment of Washington's newest government relations and strategy firm, Alignment Government Strategies, has been announced by the company's founding partners.  

Alignment Government Strategies (www.align-strategies.com) has been founded by six government relations veterans: Rebecca Anderson, Michael Beer, Bert Carp, Jenny DiJames, Leo Jardot, and Pat Pettey. Five of the firm's partners are recently of Williams & Jensen, and the sixth partner joins after a career that includes managing a Fortune 100 corporate government relations practice.  All six have successful track records assisting clients in Washington, D.C. through the interrelated legislative, administrative and political processes.

The founding partners of Alignment Government Strategies are:

Becky Anderson has over her 20 year career represented clients before Congress and the Executive Branch on a range of legislative and regulatory issues. She served in the Office of Legislative Affairs during the administration of President George H.W. Bush and has worked in the Council of State Governments as well as the Senate Liaison Office of the Reagan White House. Becky has been a long-standing advisor to dozens of female candidates, helping identify and support Republican women running for election.

Mike Beer brings to Alignment Government Strategies a wide-ranging experience that includes work for financial services, defense, energy, health care, and transportation clients.  Mr. Beer has been a successful partner in several public-private partnerships, an area he continues to provide counsel to clients.  In his previous government service, Michael has served at both the state and federal levels including service with former Representative Dave Hobson of Ohio and former Governor George V. Voinovich.

Bert Carp has established a practice that includes a wide range of subject areas, including telecommunications, tax, intellectual property, energy and environment, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Carp is a respected legislative and regulatory strategist, with experience as a senior White House and Senate aide, trade association executive, corporate office head, and private practitioner. He served for ten years as Vice President for Government Affairs (worldwide) of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., and was Deputy Assistant for Domestic Policy to President Jimmy Carter and Legislative Counsel to Senator Walter F. Mondale.

Jenny DiJames represents clients before Congress and the Executive Branch on a diverse range of legislative and regulatory issues, including significant work in the transportation, defense, and education fields.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. DiJames served as staff liaison for one of the original Members of the Blue Dog Coalition and Legislative Director for Congressman Bud Cramer of Alabama a member of the House Appropriations Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.  Jenny has been recognized for her work for Children's Advocacy Centers and continues to be engaged on Internet Child protection issues.

Leo Jardot has over thirty years of experience on Capitol Hill and in the private sector.  He led the Washington office of a Fortune 100 bio-pharmaceutical company and has experience advocating to Congress on a wide range of issues including health care, oversight, intellectual property, litigation, and corporate mergers.  He served for ten years on the staffs of Representative Glenn English (D-OK) and the House Committee on Government Operations.  He ran the Washington Office of Wyeth for over twenty years where he was active in PhRMA, BIO and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association. 

Patrick Pettey concentrates his practice on environmental, energy, natural resources, nuclear, and transportation issues, representing client interests in legislative and regulatory matters associated with these areas.  During his time his Washington, he has worked as Chief of Staff to Senator Bob Smith of New Hampshire overseeing the legislative, press, and political agendas of Senator Smith's office and was active in a number of important legislative initiatives, including the ongoing reformation of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980, Clean Air Act, Safe Drinking Water Act and the Clean Water Act.
