Local Holiday Shopping has its Rewards!
The Village of La Grange and the LGBA invite Shoppers to Unwrap La Grange and Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of 'Hometown Holiday'
LA GRANGE, Ill., Nov. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Tis the season for giving, receiving--and supporting your local community! Small businesses in the Village of La Grange are partnering with the La Grange Business Association (LGBA) to host an entire season of events celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hometown Holiday, the La Grange holiday walk. This annual season long campaign encourages residents and visitors to shop local in November and December to celebrate the season with holiday-themed activities that bring the community together.
"La Grange residents have always been incredibly supportive of the local community. With an optimistic holiday shopping season on the horizon, we're excited to make the events surrounding the 25th anniversary of Hometown Holiday the most successful in La Grange history," said Village of La Grange president Tom Livingston. "Shopping local is more fulfilling than going to a big box store because we get to know our store owners and their team members as the friends and neighbors they are. Also, the money spent at local small businesses stays in La Grange, enriching our community and economy."
How The 'Unwrap La Grange for a Hometown Holiday' Shoppers Reward Program Works
'Unwrap La Grange for a Hometown Holiday' provides an incentive for people to support local small businesses through the holidays and into the new year. Shoppers are encouraged to spend $300 with retailers in the Village of La Grange. The first 100 individuals to turn in original receipts ($20 minimum per receipt) totaling at least $300 will receive gift certificates valued at $50 to spend at participating LGBA businesses. Shoppers are encouraged to spend locally between November 26 and December 31, 2016, which are the official start and end dates for this year's Shoppers Reward Program.
Receipts can be turned in at La Grange Business Association office at 26 S. La Grange Road or online at www.lgba.com. Gift certificates will be given to shoppers after January 15, 2017 at the LGBA office. Patrons beyond the first 100 entrants that successfully meet the criteria will be entered in a special 'Unwrap La Grange for a Hometown Holiday' drawing.
"La Grange's family-owned businesses provide an outstanding opportunity to find special holiday gifts, with the added bonus of bringing the local community together," said Phil Fornaro, president of the LGBA. "Shopping local with local merchants who care about you and your community is an important tradition. For 25 years, families have been creating holiday memories with our La Grange merchants and activities that surround this event.
