About the Neegaard Family
Bill Neegaard and Chrissy Sather are a blended family from Mankato, Minnesota. Bill and Chrissy have two sons; Gabe (13) and Willy (10). Both boys experienced seizures and were subsequently diagnosed with epilepsy at a young age. Gabe began having seizures at seven-years-old and Willy at four. Gabe is now off his medications and is seizure free. Willy is still on several medications and has breakthrough seizures occasionally.
Despite having two children with epilepsy, Bill and Chrissy remain extremely positive and continue to find strength by participating in programs provided by The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota. Both Gabe and Willy have been active in the Shining Stars youth program since 2007 and are advocates on behalf of those with seizures. In 2008, the family participated in signing The National Epilepsy Foundation of America petition.
