The original Locali Healthy Convenience in Hollywood was founded by Melissa Rosen and Greg Horos in 2009 as the first small format hybrid organic deli and natural foods market of its kind. In 2012, they opened a new concept, as their second location, in the form of a vegan fast food experience called Localita & The Badasserie in the heart of L.A.'s Downtown Fashion District. In 2014, the third Locali location opened in Venice, mere blocks from the iconic Rose and Lincoln intersection and one of the nation's highest-performing Whole Foods.

According to Horos, their expansion plans are based on a belief that there needs to be a healthier and sustainability-focused franchise opportunity for small business owners in the market place that makes healthy and planet-friendly foods more easily-accessible. "To that end, we hope to ultimately offer a reduced revenue sharing model to franchisees that agree to open in historic food deserts-- urban areas offering limited access to good-quality, fresh restaurant and grocery options," added Rosen.

According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 86 percent of franchises opened within the last five years were still under the same ownership and 97 percent are still open for business. Further, healthy deli options are a vastly under-fulfilled sector of the food service industry. Locali Franchises will be provided with comprehensive training, a winning structure, and all of the tools necessary to succeed.

While vegan and vegetarian options are the most popular on the menu Rosen created, the Hollywood and Venice locations also serve turkey, chicken, tuna and dairy cheeses.
