Locations Take Center Stage at the 13th Annual LMGI Awards

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) announced the winners of its 13th Annual LMGI Awards tonight, honoring outstanding use of filming locations across motion pictures, television, commercials, film commissions, and special achievement categories.

The Motion Picture awards went to One Battle After Another, shot across California's Humboldt County, Sacramento, Stockton, Eureka, Arcata, San Diego, and El Paso, Texas; and Marty Supreme, filmed in New York City, Greater New York, the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, and Tokyo, Japan. Television Series winners included Pluribus, filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Montana, Nevada, and Spain; Fallout, shot in California's Dumont Dunes, Mojave Desert, Antelope Valley, and Santa Clarita; and Black Rabbit, filmed around New York City, including Brooklyn and Manhattan. Toyota Trucks: "They Don't Read Reviews," filmed in California, received the Outstanding Commercial award, and the Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission received the Outstanding Film Commission/Office Award for One Battle After Another.

The awards ceremony and reception took place at the Eli & Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica before an audience of 400, including LMGI members, industry executives, and press. Los Angeles broadcaster and comedian Fritz Coleman hosted the evening. The LMGI Awards spotlight international feature films, television series, commercials, and film commissions in which the creative use of filming locations sets the tone, enriches character, and enhances the narrative.

Vince Gilligan, the four-time Emmy®-winning creator, director, and writer, received the Eva Monley Award for his dedication to storytelling through location, reflected in productions including The X-Files, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, El Camino, and, most recently, the Emmy- nominated Pluribus. Location Manager Christian Díaz de Bedoya, who has collaborated with Gilligan across several major productions, presented the award. Díaz de Bedoya managed complex location work for Pluribus, including creating a custom seven-house cul-de-sac, and helped incorporate Paraguayan cultural details into the series.

Production Designer Jeannine Oppewall (LA Confidential, Seabiscuit) presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to veteran Location Manager Mike Fantasia, whose career spans more than 30 years. Fantasia's celebrated location work appears in major films including Top Gun: Maverick, Killers of the Flower Moon, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) received the Trailblazer Award, honoring more than 50 years of leadership advancing film commissions worldwide. Claire Brooks, AFCI Executive Director, accepted the award, presented by MaryAnn Hughes, VP of Production & Investment Planning at The Walt Disney Company and a fellow member of the AFCI Advisory Board.

The Environmental Media Association (EMA) received the Humanitarian Award for advancing sustainable production across film and television. Debbie Levin, EMA CEO, accepted the award on EMA's behalf. Actress Wendie Malick (Shrinking, Hot in Cleveland, Young Sheldon) presented the award. EMA also recognized the LMGI Awards with the EMA Green Seal Certification, as reflected in the Green Carpet, for environmentally responsible production practices and honoring the creative contributions of location professionals.
