Lokket has announced the launch of its residential apartment Wi-Fi services for buildings connected to the Fibre-to-the-Building (FTTB) network constructed by the TPG Telecom Group. The service was launched this month at Georgina Apartments located in the heart of King Street, Newtown near the University of Sydney.
"We currently provide Wi-Fi access to users in large shopping centre environments to create opportunities for mobile phone-based consumer engagement and to improve the shopping experience. Moving into residential apartment services made perfect sense to us. In multi-dwelling residential buildings that have the FTTB network installed, Lokket is providing brown fields apartments owners and managers with a host of services including high-speed Wi-Fi, Digital Concierge, Digital Signage, Digital Notice Boards and even Video-on-Demand.

Wi-Fi enabled security sensors, heat and humidity sensors, utility and smart energy use for improved services and management.

Currently users subscribed to the FTTB home services receive the service completely free of charge and can access any of Lokket's Wi-Fi locations throughout Australia. Lokket is aiming to reach over 2 million daily users in high-dwelling locations by 2017, including users in FTTB connected buildings.
