London International Group Managing Director Jack Hu, Governor Mike Huckabee, and Lien Chan Meet in Taiwan

IRVINE, Calif., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- London International Group hosted Governor Mike Huckabee at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) in Taipei, Taiwan on June 8, 2010.  The event titled, "An Evening with Governor Mike Huckabee" was attended by Legislator Nai-Shin Chiang and Legislator Wei-Kang Pan. Approximately 350 special invitees were in attendance, with members from Taiwan's public, business, and academic communities.  Students from National Taiwan Normal University, National Cheng-Chi University, Shih Hsin University, and Chinese Culture University were invited to directly question the Governor without any limitation on topic.  Governor Mike Huckabee spoke on the importance of democratic ideals and the United States' role as a leader in promoting individual rights.  He mentioned his prior visits to Taiwan and his continued appreciation for the country.  After his speech, Governor Mike Huckabee and Managing Director Jack Hu engaged in a question and answer session on topics ranging from the growth and economy of China to the changing dynamics of U.S.-Asia relations.

On June 8th, Managing Director Jack Hu and Governor Mike Huckabee met with Former Taiwan Vice-President and Kuomintang Party Honorary Chairman Lien Chan.  During this meeting, lasting approximately an hour, the parties discussed a number of issues and agreements effecting U.S.-Taiwan-China relations. The Governor later visited the Taipei 101 tower, where Taipei 101's President Horace Lin took Governor Mike Huckabee and Managing Director Jack Hu on a private tour of the building's unique features, before finishing their visit with a rare trip to the 101st floor of the building.
