Healthcare legal executive brings more than 30 years of experience to support Longitude Health's growth
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Longitude Health, a health system-led company focused on advancing healthcare innovation, announced that Chris Shea has joined as Chief Legal and Administrative Officer. His appointment strengthens the organization's leadership with deep health system expertise as Longitude Health continues to build and scale its ecosystem of interconnected utilities.
Shea brings more than 30 years of experience guiding healthcare organizations through growth, complex transactions, and regulatory change. A trusted advisor to boards and CEOs on governance, compliance, and risk, he combines legal expertise with a strong understanding of the healthcare industry.
"As Longitude Health scales our portfolio of industry utilities, we need leaders who understand health systems from the inside," said Vishal Agrawal, M.D., Chief Executive Officer of Longitude Health. "Chris knows that building capabilities across multiple health systems requires clear governance, disciplined risk management, and close coordination. He has dedicated his career guiding health system leaders through high-stakes decisions, and his counsel will be invaluable as we expand our impact for members and customers."
Most recently, Shea was Chief Legal and Administrative Officer at MedQuest Imaging, a multi-state diagnostic imaging organization, where he oversaw legal, compliance, risk management, managed care contracting, and human resources. Before MedQuest, he served more than a decade at Memorial Hermann Health System as Deputy General Counsel and Health Plan General Counsel, advising executive leadership and the board on acquisitions, divestitures, financings, and strategic partnerships.
At Longitude Health, Shea will develop and lead the organization's legal, compliance, and risk management functions. He will work closely with Dr. Agrawal and the leadership team on corporate governance, healthcare regulatory matters, and agreements with members, customers, and strategic partners. He will work with utility leads and technology leadership on data privacy and security while establishing legal and administrative operations and processes that support efficient execution across the enterprise.
"Throughout my career, I have seen how much health systems can accomplish when they align around a common purpose," said Shea. "Longitude Health is built on the belief that health systems are stronger together, and that the right structure turns shared priorities into meaningful action. I am excited to join this team and build the legal and administrative foundation that allows our members to collaborate with confidence and create lasting value."
Earlier in his career, Shea served as General Counsel at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston and as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Hospital Partners of America, where he built the enterprise's legal and compliance functions. He also taught healthcare transactions at the University of Houston Law Center for seven years. He holds a Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
