Los Angeles Based Chain 9021Pho Announces New Corporate Executive Chef Omar Pineda

LOS ANGELES, March 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Chief Executive Officer, Alfred DeCarolis announces today that Omar Pineda will be joining the ranks of 9021Pho (www.9021Pho.com) as Corporate Executive chef, effective immediately.

Pineda brings a wealth of operations and culinary experience to 9021Pho, a Vietnamese and French fusion restaurant chain based in Los Angeles, California. He spent the past seventeen years as Regional Culinary Partner of P.F. Chang's, where he oversaw fourteen locations in California. Previous to that, he spent seven years as an executive chef for Panda Corporation. Pineda will be reuniting with former Director of Operations of P.F. Changs, Ric Gordon, who has recently taken the position of Chief Operating Officer with 9021Pho. The two spent over eight years working together at P.F. Changs prior to joining 9021Pho.

Pineda will help the company develop the 9021Pho culinary menus across the country while it continues to open new company-owned restaurants in Denver, Los Angeles, and Minnesota. 9021Pho currently has five successful locations in the Los Angeles area.

In the spring, the team will also roll out its new concept, Broken Rice, with the first location opening in Denver, CO, in September of 2016. Broken Rice will be a modern Vietnamese kitchen/restaurant with a lively contemporary setting, for those craving a taste of authentic Vietnamese food with a healthy modern California twist.

The timing of Pineda's hire could not be better, as 9021Pho has taken the last six months to focus on the quality of culinary offerings, and the hiring of some of the top executives in the fast casual industry. 9021Pho is reemerging in a fresh way, and CEO Alfred DeCarolis feels that Pineda is the perfect executive to drive this home in the restaurants current and future locations.
