WASHINGTON, Jan. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Washington's Theodore Roosevelt High School will host a day of music, food and entertainment, all designed to combat the spread of bullying across the metro area.
The LoveForward Campaign is hosting its first STAND Up, SPEAK Out "Anti-Bullying" Rally on March 11, 2018 from noon to 4 p.m. at the school, located at 4301 13th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20011.
According to Lisa Hounshell, the LoveForward Campaign's Senior Executive Director, the rally is designed to broaden bullying awareness issues affecting children and adults across the region and the nation.
"In a world filled with hatred and violence and people suffering in silence, a simple act of kindness can make a difference in someone's life," said Hounshell.
Though additional details about the rally will be released at a future date, the event, as planned, will take place in Roosevelt's auditorium and atrium of the school. The rally is expected to attract surprise celebrity guests, professional athletes and local entertainers, with pep bands and cheerleaders from area schools providing additional entertainment.
This event is free to the public. Attendees are asked to register via Eventbrite.
The LoveForward Campaign, an offshoot of a group created through Facebook, is designed to promote random acts of kindness by ordinary people toward ordinary people. The campaign has addressed the curbing of bullying as their first campaign.
