LSAV Is Victim of Grand Theft--Thanks AV Community for Helping Recover Stolen Equipment

CHICAGO, Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Lakeshore Audiovisual, Inc. (LSAV), a Chicago-based audiovisual staging and solutions company, was the victim of grand theft earlier this month when approximately $500,000 worth of its audiovisual equipment was stolen in the Washington DC Metro area.

Following the theft, LSAV headquarters sent out an e-blast to more than 5,000 individuals in the AV and events industry and posted messages to its Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages asking everyone to look out for any suspicious audiovisual equipment for sale or its distinct marble gear cases.

LSAV offered up a reward for any information leading to the return of the equipment.  

Due to the power of social media, the word quickly spread online throughout the AV and events community in the United States and Canada. LSAV's Facebook post reached more than 50,000 people and was shared close to 500 times. They also received numerous responses from the industry-wide e-blast.

Thanks to the vigilance and rapid response of the close-knit AV and events community, and the incredible work of local police, these efforts proved successful.

All of LSAV's equipment was located and recovered by LSAV and the DC Metro authorities one week later.
