Lt. Gen. (Ret) Harry M. "Bud" Wyatt Joins The Roosevelt Group As Senior Advisor

General Brings State, National Expertise to Firm's Defense and Homeland Security Practice

WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Roosevelt Group, a government affairs consulting and strategic advocacy firm with an emphasis on defense and homeland security, announced today that Lieutenant General (Ret.) Harry M. "Bud" Wyatt has joined the firm as a senior advisor.

Gen Wyatt will play a major role with Roosevelt Group clients, including states and municipalities that are confronting challenges related to the closing or repositioning of military facilities within their jurisdictions.

Gen. Wyatt has built a distinguished career.  As Adjutant General and Secretary of the Military for Oklahoma, he led the state's successful response to the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure process, which preserved all of Oklahoma's installations.  He also worked with the uniformed services, key partners at all levels of government and the private sector to build seven Armed Forces Reserve Training Centers across Oklahoma with federal funding, and to repurpose 43 armories to fit the needs of local communities.

Following his service in Oklahoma, he was named Director of the Air National Guard and applied a creative, "can-do" approach to navigating the ANG through a period of fiscal austerity and a renewed focus on future mission.  He was responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, plans and programs affecting more than 106,800 Guard members in more than 88 flying wings and 200 geographically separated units throughout the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands. Gen. Wyatt retired from the U.S. Air Force in January 2013 and received the Distinguished Service Medal for his outstanding service. In April, he was appointed to the National Commission on the Structure of the Air Force by U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe, ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
