Luby's, Inc. Debuts New, Full Service Restaurant And Bar Concept In Virginia; Fuddruckers Deluxe Bar & Grill Launch Marks Brand's Return To Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Luby's, Inc. launched a prototype for an extension of their Fuddruckers brand at 12361 Hornsby Lane in Newport News, VA.  Fuddruckers Deluxe Bar & Grill is the national chain's first restaurant to offer both table service with a wait staff, as well as a full bar.  The debut marks a return of Fuddruckers to the area after a several year absence.

According to Peter Tropoli, Chief Operating Officer of Luby's, Inc., "We're pleased to reintroduce Fuddruckers to Newport News with an enhanced concept unlike anything in the current Fuddruckers portfolio.  From the expanded food offerings and complimentary Wi-Fi to happy hour specials and to-go capabilities, our goal is to become a fun, favorite gathering place and asset to the community."

While Fuddruckers grilled-to-order burgers featuring always fresh and never frozen, 100% USDA premium-cut beef with no fillers or additives and scratch baked buns continue to be a focal point – albeit nearly doubling signature items with options like the Bistro and Tex Mex Burgers– the menu adds a full selection of appetizers, soups and salads, handhelds, entrees, "lighter side" choices and desserts.  Mega Nachos, Buffalo & Black Bean Chili, Classic Sirloin, BBQ Trio, Classic Chicken Wrap and All-American Strawberry Shortcake are among the numerous Fuddruckers Favorites currently exclusive to this location.  A dedicated kid's menu also offers families lots of options.

The extensive Drink Book gives the bar its own flavor with a range of sangrias, pina coladas, margaritas and mojitos that complement a variety of draft and bottled beers, wines by the glass and music-inspired specialty cocktails such as the Electric Guitar and Amped-Up Tea.  Happy hour is featured Monday through Thursday from 3 until 6 pm.  Food specials are priced from $4 to $4.50, and drink specials include $4 sangrias and mojitos plus a $15.99 100-ounce Bud Light. Classic, 10-ounce margaritas are available for $1.99 all day on Mondays.

Sport enthusiasts will enjoy the more than two dozen TVs situated throughout the restaurant, including dedicated monitors for a number of booths. A showcase for Fuddruckers' dynamic interior scheme, the restaurant pays homage to the chain's signature, roadhouse look, while catering to today's more sophisticated tastes.  The resulting ambience is ideal for a family outing, business lunch or a date night.
