Lucite International to Commence MAA Production at its Beaumont, Texas Facility
MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lucite International, Inc. announced today that it intends to commence production of Methacrylic Acid (MAA) at its Beaumont, Texas facility. Production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2012 following significant further investment on the site.
Since Lucite ceased MAA production at its Belle, West Virginia facility in 2010, the company has continued to supply product to the Americas Market from its global asset base. However, the decision to restart production in the U.S. will help support the increasing demands of its customer base.
"The decision to invest in MAA production is another boost for our Beaumont site, which recently restarted MMA production and has benefited from ongoing investment," said Neil Sayers, President of Lucite Americas. "We are delighted that we will be in a position to support the future demand of our customers from a new and efficient production asset."
Lucite's Beaumont, Texas facility produces Methyl Methacrylate Monomer (MMA) with a current workforce of over 100 employees.
