Luxury Jeweller Flies Over 10,000 Miles to Make a Couples Dream Come True

When a company promises "free delivery" it usually entails little more than handing a package to a courier. For Rare Pink, a London based online diamond engagement ring specialist, it meant a 10,000-mile flight from London to Phoenix, USA, to meet a client's deadline for proposing to his fiancée.

On the flight was Sean Jadoon, head of sales at Rare Pink, a new start-up making waves in the engagement ring market with their bespoke engagement ring offering. His precious cargo was a 2Ct pear shaped custom diamond ring, commissioned just days before. The platinum ring design was inspired by the name of the customer's girlfriend, Tao, with the Ying Yang relationship of Chinese Taoism clearly showing in the design.

Sean Jadoon said: "When our customer told us that his planned proposal was one week away we had to make a tough decision, take on the challenge to deliver his ring in record time or pass by the opportunity of creating a stunning design."

The stone was sourced through the company's Hong Kong office and Rare Pink managed to speed up manufacturing to cast the ring over a weekend.

Sean Jadoon said: "Quality takes time and our setters and polishers literally had to drop everything to make this ring happen. The ring needed to be in Arizona on Sunday, which was Easter Sunday. When no courier would guarantee an on-time delivery, I made a swift decision, miss the deadline or take it to Phoenix myself. He added: "For me it was the most natural thing," A unique customer story was unfolding.

At a luxury resort in Phoenix, client Brian was expecting a courier. Instead, he got a slightly jet-lagged Sean Jadoon, hand-carrying the ring. "Are you serious, you flew in?" said Brian, jaw dropping.

Happily Brian's fiancée accepted the proposal and loved the ring. Reflecting, Sean said: "We know that unexpected costs like this eat into our already small margins.
