SAN FRANCISCO, April 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- San Francisco-based ticketing company, Lyte, is forgoing all revenue from its venue and touring businesses in March as a response to the coronavirus pandemic. Profits will be distributed to venue partners who have started crowdfunding campaigns to support their staff. Additionally, the company has made donations to two organizations focused on assisting individuals in the events industry. Backline, the music industry's mental health and wellness hub (www.backline.care) provides free resources for the music industry in an effort to improve the wellbeing of these individuals on and off the road. Plus1's COVID-19 Relief Fund (http://plus1.org/covidrelief) will grant to organizations providing direct relief to community members impacted by the pandemic. The company is also a proud member of the newly-formed National Independent Venue Association (http://www.nivassoc.org), an organization securing financial support to preserve the national ecosystem of independent venues and promoters.
"As a new organization, Backline relies on the support of partners across the music industry, who understand the need to prioritize mental health and wellness in our community. These resources are more critical now than ever, and we are grateful for the support from Lyte so we can continue to provide these free services to our community as we weather the present uncertainties." - Hilary Gleason, Executive Director of Backline
To make giving back easy, Lyte has launched a Coronavirus Community Relief site (https://lyte.com/covid19relief/). The portal offers a streamlined way for fans to access crowdfunding campaigns and contribute to their favorite venue, crew, or independent promoter. Lyte's company values prioritize community, and this effort supports their ongoing commitment to facilitating impact.
"It is critical for us to support the venues that bring us our favorite events, and the many people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring them to life. Consumers on the Lyte platform continue to purchase tickets; live events will come back with a vengeance. This is one of several initiatives we will be rolling out over the coming months to help our country's historic venues make it through these difficult months." - Ant Taylor, CEO of Lyte
Lyte's event partners include Coachella, Newport Folk Festival, New York Comic Con and hundreds of venues in North America to provide flexibility for fans through their safe and secure ticketing exchanges. In concert with their core offerings, Lyte is providing partners additional flexibility and expanded client support whilst decisions on the fate of 2020 events are being made.
About Lyte
Lyte makes it easier for fans to go to more live events. Founded in New York City and San Francisco by CEO Ant Taylor, our killer fan feature is returnability. In an industry where a "no refunds and no cancellations" policy is the standard, Lyte enables fans to return their event tickets, no questions asked, to the official point of purchase.
Lyte also provides a safe and official reservation booking system, offering fans who sign up a fair price for in-demand tickets. One hundred percent of the tickets bought and sold through Lyte are issued through our ticketing partners and delivered directly to fans. Lyte has delivered millions in fan savings — over $5 million in 2019 alone. It's only getting better from here, thanks to our growing partnerships with bands, venues, promoters, ticketers and festivals.
For the industry, we function as a full inventory management solution, including a private-label secondary market to optimize event yield for event producers. Visit lyte.com.
