Magicblox also parents to Buy a Book if they still want a pysical copy of their book, effectively turning the library into an additional marketing channel to reach a new generation of readers.
Jason Lane, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and long time technologist, started creating the Magicblox library in August 2010 with the vision of building an extensive eBook library specifically for kids, where parents like himself could get unlimited access to thousands of interactive eBooks for a price more affordable, portable and environment friendly than traditional paper books. During the first 10 months, Magicblox has continuously added authors, publishers, books and subscribers and continues to see increased growth and usage.
"In addition to the issues I had with buying and accessing physical kids books for my son, I also saw the pain that independent authors go through when creating, marketing and distributing their books. Most publishers only have enough time and resources to work with a small subset of all the books that get created every year even though most of the rejections I've seen have been fabulous books. It's time for the world to see all of the books that are created and not just the ones publishers have time for," said Jason Lane, the Founder and CEO of Magicblox.com.
