Maneesh K. Goyal, Founder Of MKG Announces Formation Of Parent Company Pineapple Co
Goyal named CEO of Pineapple Co; Tracy Bussan named President of MKG
NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Maneesh K. Goyal, founder and President of MKG, an experiential marketing agency, today announced the formation of Pineapple Co, a parent company designed to accelerate the growth of Goyal's roster of current businesses, and to welcome future opportunities. Current Pineapple Co businesses include: MKG; Brooklyn-based scenic fabrication shop Pink Sparrow; boutique branding agency 214; and Live in the Grey, a company-culture consultancy that challenges the work/life divide. Goyal will serve as Pineapple Co's CEO, transitioning from MKG's day-to-day operations. Goyal's long-term business partner Dave Garlick will join him as COO of Pineapple Co.
"Pineapple Co was created to leverage the unique spirit of openness, creativity, and hospitality that has been a key component to the success of our existing companies," said Goyal. "As CEO of Pineapple Co, I will be able to focus my energy on scaling our growth, and maintain the flexibility to discover, and develop new ventures."
Goyal also announced the promotion of Tracy Bussan, who will assume the role of President of MKG. Bussan currently serves as Managing Director of MKG's New York office, leading the agency's engagements with marquee clients including Delta Air Lines, Google, Chase and NBCUniversal. Tracy joined MKG as Director of Client Services from Leo Burnett in 2013, bringing 15 years of marketing and account management experience to the agency.
"Tracy is an extraordinary leader, who has been instrumental in the growth of the business, by modeling and cultivating the creative ideas and corporate culture that sets MKG apart," said Goyal. "Looking back on MKG's growth since I founded it 13 years ago is both humbling and inspiring. I look forward to collaborating with Tracy to make the next 13 years equally exceptional."
Since Goyal founded MKG in 2003, the business has grown from a one-person event planning shop to a 65-person, bicoastal, full-service experiential marketing agency. MKG has been named one of Crain's New York's "50 Fastest Growing Companies" and "Best Places to Work" multiple years running. Over the last three years, Goyal has spun two additional companies out of MKG; Pink Sparrow, a Brooklyn-based scenic fabrication shop and 214, a boutique branding agency. In 2013, Goyal founded Live in the Grey, a company-culture consultancy that challenges the work/life divide and encourages the blend of personal passions with professional pursuits.
Goyal himself is a model of blending personal passions with professional pursuits; a leader in political activism, an active angel investor, and he is deeply committed to numerous charitable causes. In November 2014, Goyal was appointed by President Barack Obama as a member of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. He also serves on the Board of SeriousFun Children's Network, founded by Paul Newman, and on the Executive Committee of the Board of NYC & Company, the official tourism organization of NYC.
