Mangrove's now-famous annual promo invites show attendees to log into an online payroll database, access a paycheck worth up to $500, and exchange it for cash at their booth. This year, attendees can choose to keep their earnings or donate them back to GRN, and Mangrove has pledged to match that donated amount.
"Anything we can do to aid in the restoration and recovery of our Gulf Coast region is a responsibility we all share," said Rich Cangemi, CEO of Tampa-based Mangrove. "This may seem like a Gulf Coast problem, but the ramifications of this ecological crisis will impact everyone, from coast to coast, for future generations."
The company said it could not predict how much money would be donated, but the potential is in excess of $100,000 based on total available payout amounts of the promotion.
