Manufacturing Industry Leader Jerry Jasinowski Joins EverFi
To focus on STEM training and future workforce development
WASHINGTON, Feb. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- EverFi, Inc., the critical skills education technology company that has trained over seven million learners, today announced that Jerry J. Jasinowski, former President of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), will lead EverFi's initiative to help introduce students to STEM career opportunities that are driving economic growth in the United States and beyond.
"One of the most critical challenges facing U.S. industry is a shortage of job applicants with the skills needed to work in modern manufacturing," Jasinowski said. "Manufacturing is undergoing a dramatic transformation into a new hybrid of technology, logistics, and services. Unfortunately, far too many of our young people lack the essential tools they need to participate in today's rapidly evolving economy."
Jasinowski served as president of the National Association of Manufacturers for fourteen years and evolved the organization into the leading voice for industry productivity and economic growth. He was a former U.S. Air Force Intelligence Officer and served as Director of the Carter Administration's economic transition team for the departments of Treasury, Commerce, Labor, the Council of Economic Advisors, and the Federal Reserve.
At EverFi, Jasinowski will assume the title of Chairman of Critical Skills Initiatives and will focus on introducing the company's unique technology platform and broad range of online curricula to the industrial and manufacturing communities. In particular, he will focus on EverFi's Radius learning course that is designed to inspire early student interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics and careers directly related to these fields.
"EverFi is making a major push into STEM this year. Getting Jerry Jasinowski to lead this effort is like landing the number one draft pick," said EverFi CEO Tom Davidson. "For over thirty years, Jerry has helped grow manufacturing's role in the American economy and no one is better suited to bring innovation, engagement and leadership to thousands of schools than Jerry."
"I have been working in the education and skills field for many years, and EverFi is one of the most effective and promising programs I have ever encountered," Jasinowski said. "I look forward to helping EverFi extend its reach and impact."
EverFi's national education network has grown to include 6,200 K-12 schools and over 550 higher education institutions. To date, over 7 million learners in all 50 states have completed EverFi's courses.
