Gold medal in the category "Large Implementation" for global IT-project MShape
MAQUET Holding B.V. & Co. KG received this year's SAP Quality Award in Gold in the category "Large Implementation" for Germany with its global IT-project MShape to standardize and harmonize business processes. From more than 200 nominations from companies in various different industries, SAP picked the MAQUET project MShape because of its consistent planning, strong leadership following clear quality standards, and excellent cooperation within the departments involved.
Well equipped for the future
With MShape, which was introduced in 2012, the rapidly growing company MAQUET will have an international joint unified platform for all business processes. MShape is the most extensive IT-project which has been initiated at MAQUET so far and will be launched in all the company's sales and service units and business units by 2016. The rapid development of MAQUET and the numerous takeovers of companies in recent years, such as Datascope Corp in 2009, Atrium Medical Inc. in 2011 and Avalon Elite in 2012, made this consolidation necessary. "MShape is one of the most important tools to help consolidate our diverse business processes. We need a robust platform so we can integrate new requirements quickly, easily and according to our high quality standards," says Reinhard Mayer, Chief Financial Officer MAQUET.

From theory into practice
When implementing MShape, various country-specific characteristics such as local laws need to be taken into account. The smooth implementation of the project requires the expertise of and close cooperation with the Chief Financial Officers of the offices in the respective countries, who are responsible for the project on site. At the operative level, every single employee has to step up to the plate when data sources need to be optimized before merging them in MShape. When the system is up and running, specially trained key users will support their colleagues during the initial launch phase, and will be the first people to turn to when questions arise. MAQUET will also continue to implement its high quality standards in the future, with the help of its quality in project management and by implementing the MShape project, awarded the SAP Quality Award 2013.
