Steven J. Healy to Moderate Discussion on "Campus-Community Partnerships: Making Campuses and Surrounding Neighborhoods Safer"

Healy, will moderate a workshop entitled, "Campus-Community Partnerships: Making Campuses and Surrounding Neighborhoods Safer" at the 2010 Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Conference on Tuesday, December 7th in Washington, DC. Panel participants include Maureen S. Rush, Vice President for Public Safety at the University of Pennsylvania, and David B. Mitchell, Chief of Police at the University of Maryland.
BJA's National Conference, Advancing Justice through Evidence and Innovation, will be held at the Washington Hilton Hotel, December 6 - 8. According to BJA, the conference will emphasize how evidence and innovation can be leveraged to improve the nation's justice systems and to ensure community safety. BJA recently announced that it would provide MH&A with $399,800 in funding through its 2010 Enhancing Law Enforcement and Crime Prevention Competitive Grant Program. MH&A will use the funding to implement the firm's project entitled, "Best Practices for Campus Crime Prevention: Developing Evidence Based Modern Crime Prevention Strategies for Institutions of Higher Education." MH&A will use an inclusive, research-focused strategy to identify, evaluate, refine and replicate best and promising practices in modern evidence-based and age-appropriate crime prevention programming at institutions of higher education. Healy's participation on the panel is a precursor to MH&A's work on the Campus Crime Prevention grant.
