SAN DIEGO, Nov. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Functional fashion accessory company, Maria Shireen™ (www.mariashireen.com) - makers of the popular bittersweet line of patented hair tie bracelets - unveiled its 2016 bittersweet collection and launched its newest collection for kids and young adults, b+sweet by Maria Shireen at an invitation-only event at The London in Los Angeles last week. The 2016 b+sweet collection features the same innovative design as the original bittersweet bracelet but now is available for kids and young adults in a durable BPA free material, two sizes, multiple colors, and at a highly affordable price point.
The b+sweet collection was created as a result of high consumer demand for the style and function for the original bittersweet bracelet that debuted in the market late last year. Customers asked for a durable, affordable product for the younger women in their lives. Maria Shireen answered the call, introducing b+sweet for kids and young adults. The kid's bracelets come in a set of three for $20 and include one each in pink, blue and purple. Each kid's bracelet is engraved with the words "love, strength and laughter." The young adult b+sweet line offers a similarly lightweight design, is BPA free, available in silver and gold, and retail at $25 each.
The innovative design of both the bittersweet and b+sweet bracelets reflects a unique channel within the bracelet that holds a hair tie in place while doubling as a stylish accessory. bittersweet by Maria Shireen was imagined and created by a husband and wife team, Arni and Shireen Thor. As engineers, they both observed that many women wear their hair ties around their wrist as it is a convenient spot to place them when they are not in use. Not only is this an eye sore, but it can also be irritating to one's skin, often causing an indentation and lack of circulation in the wrist. Bittersweet by Maria Shireen sought to solve this problem in both a stylish and function way and launched its first collection of bracelets late last year. The line met with immediate success and popularity, selling out multiple times.
The classic 2016 bittersweet by Maria Shireen collection also launches this month, updating the original designs with a sleeker shape that is both stackable and easily customized through engraving. The bittersweet bracelets are either steel plated or sterling silver and are available in silver, gold, and rose gold colors, ranging in price from $45 to $85. "We are thrilled to launch our new b+sweet line and our 2016 bittersweet collection," says founder and namesake Shireen Thor. "We heard from so many customers about the need for a bracelet suitable for their child, or for their gym and beach bags. We're focused on solution driven accessories, and felt the need to respond immediately with the b+sweet designs. Our classic bittersweet collection was also updated to accommodate personalized engraving and offers a sleeker shape. An engineer by background, solving challenges is a passion of mine, and to do this with accessories is the perfect melding of fun and functionality for me."
