Maricom Hires New Corporate Information Security and Privacy Officer

BALTIMORE, July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Maricom Systems, Inc. (www.maricom.com) announced today the appointment of Jason Taule to the position of Corporate Information Security and Privacy Officer, responsible for the company's information security strategy, policy and program. In this position, Mr. Taule is charged with promoting and coordinating enterprise-wide information security, risk management, privacy, and governance. 

Prior to joining Maricom, Mr. Taule held multiple senior level security positions, including that of CISO and Privacy Officer at General Dynamics Information Technology, CISO in State Government, Global Director of the Information Security Practice at Ajilon Consulting, and Senior Associate at Booz Allen & Hamilton.  He previously served on the State of Maryland Governor's IT Security Subcommittee, and is a former member of the Privacy Committee of the Colorado State Government Data Advisory Board. 

With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Taule's accumulated expertise, communication, interpersonal skills and numerous accomplishments as a security expert have earned him recognition as an industry leader.  A frequently published author and speaker, Mr. Taule is a recipient of The Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) Infosec Award for Security and Privacy in recognition of his leadership and ongoing efforts to advance the healthcare industry, and for his involvement in providing healthcare IT services in support of healthcare reform. He is also a past finalist for both Information Security Executive of the Year and SC Magazine CISO of the Year.
