Marilyn's Voice Rescues and Rehabilitates an Injured Dog
MENTOR, Ohio, Aug. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Marilyn's Voice, Inc. has a mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving homes for severely neglected and abused dogs from commercial kennels, puppy mills and other unfortunate situations.
Marilyn's Voice is a foster network. All of the rescued animals are in secure and loving homes where the volunteers work diligently to help these dogs adjust to their new lives. This is the first time many of these dogs ever see compassion and love.
Recently, Marilyn's Voice has found itself with Zoe, a one-year-old dog who has had a rough start to her life and needs your help.
Zoe was found on the side of the road in Holmes County and brought to the pound where she spent a week before Marilyn's Voice was contacted and able to take her in. It seems that she was hit by a car and has incurred extremely extensive injuries to her hip, making it impossible for her to use one leg. She also has a fractured vertebrae and a skin condition causing her extreme discomfort. On top of these injuries she suffers from severe dehydration from neglect. Zoe has recently undergone surgery to repair her bowels and tongue and she is currently recovering from surgery to fix her shattered hip.
"She (Zoe) has had such a horrible beginning but there is not one mean bone in her body. I have never seen such a sweet, loving dog," said one volunteer. "This is why we are here – to raise awareness and to find these loving animals a safe forever home."
Costly surgeries, months of rehabilitation and medication are prime reasons that Marilyn's Voice depends on the generosity of people's donations to rescue our loved pets.
