Market-Leading PC Manufacturer Selects Lionbridge as Premier Translation Provider

WALTHAM, Mass., June 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lionbridge (Nasdaq: LIOX) today announced that it has signed a master services agreement with one of the world's largest PC manufacturers.  With the agreement Lionbridge will be the sole provider of global program management, localization and linguistic testing for the client's popular notebook, desktop, server, and software product suites, in up to 39 target languages.  The client selected Lionbridge based on Lionbridge's dedication to quality and Lean Six Sigma, cutting edge technology and global reach.  

To facilitate the program the client will use Lionbridge's translation management portal, Freeway™.  This platform will be integrated with the client's content authoring environment to unify multi-site production teams and create a seamless process for authoring and translation.  

In addition, the PC manufacturer will benefit from Translation Workspace™, Lionbridge's cloud-based translation memory platform. The system's unique, on-demand architecture enables the simultaneous use of multiple translation memories on a single project and facilitates real-time collaboration among all project participants.  This improves turn-around time, increases consistency and quality and eliminates redundant work. As a result, the client gains all of the benefits of technology without having to buy, deploy, or maintain on-premise translation software.

By working with Lionbridge, the PC manufacturer is able to enhance product quality and accelerate time to market.  In addition, because Lionbridge offers benefits of a cloud-based, managed service model, the client is able to fully leverage its language assets while reducing costs.

Lionbridge will support the PC manufacturer with a global team, including program management experts from Lionbridge's China-based solution center, who will build an effective process to power the client's global translation requirements. Lionbridge's global teams, combined with its real-time language technology platform will also allow the client to easily scale their translation program to support ongoing growth.
