Costume sales are expected to reach $2.5 billion. This includes store-bought, homemade, and large and small costumes. Families with pets are also expected to shop for their furry friends, and pet costume sales are expected to reach $350 million.
Approximately 93.7%, of shoppers plan to purchase candy, which will total $2.1 billion in sales. Last year, chocolate candy reached $217 million in sales. Chocolate candy is the most popular item given to trick-or-treaters.
