BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Mary Aloe, producer, Safier Entertainment, Grodnik/Aloe Productions, JARS Productions, Circle 4 Entertainment, and Massive Film Project are pleased to announce today the January 18th 2019 U.S. Theatrical and VOD release, through Vertical Entertainment, of "The Brawler.""The Brawler" stars Zach McGowan ("Black Sails," "Shameless"), Tayrn Manning ("Orange is the New Black"), Amy Smart ("The Butterfly Effect"), Joey Pantoliano ("The Sopranos," "Bad Boys"), Nick Loeb ("Den of Thieves") and Burt Young ("Rocky"). The film is directed by Ken Kushner and written by Ken Kushner and Robert Dibella.

Inspired by true events behind "Rocky." Local boxer Chuck Wepner was a liquor salesman in Bayonne, New Jersey when he got the call, a once in a lifetime shot. Chuck was going to fight the Heavy Weight Champion of the World, Muhammad Ali. Chuck trained hard, pushing himself to the limit so he could go toe to toe with the greatest fighter of all time. His heroic battle with Ali was only the beginning of a wild ride that takes Chuck from the lows of New Jersey to highs of Hollywood.
