Mass High Tech Announces Cleantech Forum 2010

BOSTON, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Mass High Tech, the journal of New England technology, has announced that it will host the third annual cleantech forum as part of its quarterly breakfast series on April 29, 2010. Featuring a panel of business and government area executives, MHT Cleantech Forum 2010 will explore how clean technology is being applied within businesses, homes and communities. Additionally, as part of the event, MHT will release findings garnered from a survey of its CleanTech Directory members which will detail trends including sector growth and confidence; funding, expansion and exit strategies; growth accelerators and inhibitors, and hiring trends.

The conference -- themed "Work, Live, Sustain" -- will be hosted by the Seaport Hotel in Boston, on Thursday, April 29 from 7:30 - 9:30 am, and will include a networking breakfast, state of the industry report by Mass High Tech publisher Douglas Banks, an interactive panel session, and a technology showcase highlighting local companies' products and services. The event will feature an opening keynote by Patrick Cloney, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center that will provide an update on the governor's clean energy challenge and the state of public funding.  

"Massachusetts and New England overall has become a hotbed of clean technology innovation, driven in large part by strong stimulus funding support as well as venture capital funding," said Douglas Banks, publisher and editor, Mass High Tech. "This year's Cleantech Forum will further showcase some emerging companies in the region, as well as drive awareness on the issues, trends and solutions driving adoption locally and regionally."

The interactive panel session will focus on how successful cleantech companies today must provide superior, innovative technology and deliver value throughout the lifecycle of their deployment in order to make clean technologies more deployable. Participants include Tom  Pincince, president and CEO of Digital Lumens; Jonathan Guerster, CEO of Groom Energy Solutions; Ted Stimpson, CEO, Imagitas Inc., a Pitney Bowes Co.; Geoff Chapin, Founder and CEO, Next Step Living; and David Douglas, Senior Fellow at the Breakthrough Institute and former Chief Sustainability Officer at Sun Microsystems.  The panel will be moderated by John Loughnane, a partner with Eckert Seamans, a national law firm with over 320 attorneys located in Boston and in offices throughout the eastern United States.

The technology showcase will highlight emerging cleantech companies in New England to showcase and demonstrate their product/device/technology during the networking portion of the Forum, which will occur before and after the panel discussion.  The showcase will consist of Advanced Electron Beams, Free Flow Power, Harvest Power, Next Step Living, Powerhouse Dynamics, and 7Solar Technologies Inc.
