Mass Megawatts Wind Power Reports Successful Delivery And Operation Of Larger Wind-powered, Water Pump System
WORCESTER, Mass., April 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mass Megawatts Wind Power, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: MMMW) today announced the successful delivery and operation of a larger wind-powered, water pump system in Colorado. The patented Mass Megawatts water pump system provides a low-cost solution for water delivery applications commonly needed on farms and ranches throughout the central plains of the United States.
The unit was constructed in under a week, and initial results have been very favorable. Preliminary findings indicate that water is being pumped at a rate that has exceeded expectations, delivering water at an accelerated rate that is substantially larger than other water pumping systems in the area. A more detailed analysis will be conducted over the coming weeks to further validate these findings.
A video of a recently completed Mass Megawatts water pump system can be viewed on the company's website at www.massmegawatts.com.
Developed by Mass Megawatts, the wind-powered unit provides a lower-cost solution when compared to more traditional water pumping systems, including those powered by diesel generators. Water pumps are commonly used for agricultural purposes, including irrigation and for the delivery of water to livestock in remote locations.
The Company's wind-powered, water pump leverages the patented, wind augmenter technology to increase the wind velocity directed at the wind turbine. This, in turn, results in a significant increase in power output which provides considerable torque for mechanical applications.
The wind-powered system is designed to operate efficiently without high towers or complicated, expensive technologies. The system utilizes off-the-shelf parts, is capable of operating in lower wind-speed locations, and with reduced maintenance costs. Production of additional wind power units is underway at the company's manufacturing facility located in Morrison, Colorado.
