Massachusetts Chooses hCentive for States Marketplace for Fall 2014 Open Enrollment. FFM Track No Longer Needed.
WebInsure State Solution will be Implemented to Provide Optimal Health Insurance Choice to Massachusetts Residents
RESTON, Va., Aug. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --hCentive, the leader in ACA health insurance exchange technology, announced today the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, with support from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), decided to use hCentive's WebInsure State solution for their state based health insurance exchange for Fall 2014 Open Enrollment. hCentive proved its readiness allowing Massachusetts to remain a state-based marketplace and stop the contingency planning to join the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM).
In order to prove its readiness, the Commonwealth front-loaded core functionality into WebInsure State to demonstrate to CMS and to start conduct rigorous system testing prior to the go-live date. The Commonwealth is positioned well to offer Massachusetts consumers a streamlined, single point of entry shopping experience that meets, and exceeds, current FFM capabilities.
WebInsure State will enable all residents of the commonwealth, including those eligible for Medicaid, to be able to go online thru a "single door" and apply for Medicaid, unsubsidized or subsidized insurance, learn what level of subsidy might be available and select a plan. The launch of an hCentive-based system will provide the end-to-end functionality required to support an ACA-compliant Marketplace and State Wrap, the unique Massachusetts program that offers additional state premium assistance to help make health insurance more affordable for thousands of residents.
"We're honored to be chosen by Massachusetts for its exchange needs as the state leadership strives to give residents simple and affordable access to insurance through the ACA," said Sanjay Singh, Chief Executive Officer of hCentive. "With more than 97% of population receiving health insurance coverage, state has a unique leadership position in this field. It is inspiring to work side by side state officials whose commitment to provide affordable health coverage to all its residents is unflinching. They saw our demonstrated technical and customer service capabilities through our results in the several tests that we have been through. In addition, our work with the Colorado, Kentucky and New York exchanges gives them confidence that they have chosen a proven solution. The state has very high standards and expectations and we are committed to meeting them."
